Terms of Use
Chapter 1: General Provisions
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms of Use govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of users and the procedures for using the services (hereinafter referred to as the "Service") provided by Beyond Chapter (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") through its website (https://www.chapter-beyond.me/, hereinafter referred to as the "Site").
Article 2 (Disclosure, Effect, and Amendment of Terms)
a. The Company shall post these Terms on the Site so that users and members can review them at any time.
b. The Company may revise these Terms in compliance with applicable laws such as the Act on Regulation of Terms and Conditions, Framework Act on Electronic Documents and Transactions, Electronic Signature Act, Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, and Electronic Financial Transactions Act.
c. If these Terms are amended, the Company shall announce the effective date and reason for the amendment on the Site at least 7 days before the changes take effect.
d. These Terms serve as the foundational agreement between the Company and the users for the Service. If necessary, the Company may establish additional terms specific to certain services (hereinafter "Individual Terms"), which shall take precedence over these Terms if the user agrees to them. Revisions to such Individual Terms shall follow the same procedure as outlined above.
Article 3 (Definitions)
a. Definitions of terms used in these Terms are as follows:
Member: A person who agrees to these Terms and enters into a service agreement with the Company.
Non-member: A person who uses the Service without registering as a Member.
ID: A combination of letters and numbers set by the Member and approved by the Company for identification.
Password: A combination of letters and numbers created and registered by the Member for security purposes.
Money Point: A virtual currency issued by the Company that can be used like cash when purchasing goods or using services provided by the Company.
b. Any terms not defined in this Article shall follow customary business practices.
Article 4 (Establishment of Purchase Service Agreement)
a. The Service Agreement is established when a user applies for the purchase service and the Company accepts the application. Acceptance shall be indicated on the relevant service page, via email, or by other means.
b. Users must agree to these Terms and provide accurate identity information via the Company’s membership application form.
c. Only individuals aged 14 or older may register. Users who use false names or someone else’s information may not use the Service.
d. Service agreements are processed in order of application, and the agreement is deemed to be in effect upon the Company's acceptance notification.
e. The Company may refuse or defer applications for the following reasons:
Verification failure of real-name use.
Duplicate membership with identical name and email.
Application made within two months of a prior service termination.
Technical limitations or insufficient resources.
Any other reason deemed reasonable by the Company.
Article 5 (Termination of Agreement)
a. Termination by Member:
A Member may terminate the agreement at any time by notifying the Company.
The agreement is terminated when the Company receives the notice.
Former members may re-register under the same terms and conditions.
b. Termination by the Company:
The Company may terminate the agreement under the following conditions:
If any of the refusal reasons in Article 4 apply.
If the Member infringes on the rights or reputation of others.
If the Member violates these Terms or commits illegal acts.
Notification will be provided via email, phone, fax, or other means. If unreachable, termination will be posted on the Site.
c. All unused Money Points expire upon termination.
d. Any resulting damages are the responsibility of the Member, and the Company bears no liability.
Article 6 (Personal Information Management)
a. Users must provide truthful information and update any changes.
b. The user bears any consequences from failing to update their information.
c. Personal data for guest purchases is used only for payment and delivery.
d. Non-members are also subject to the Privacy Policy where applicable.
e. The Company shall not share user information without consent, except in cases:
Required by law.
Necessary for delivery.
Consent was obtained through policy.
f. The Company maintains and publishes a Privacy Policy and designates a data protection officer.
Article 7 (ID and Password Management)
a. Members are responsible for their ID and password security.
b. The Company is not liable for loss due to ID/password disclosure not caused by the Company.
c. Users must promptly report unauthorized use to the Company.
Article 8 (Service Period and Suspension)
a. The service period begins on registration and continues until termination.
b. The Company may suspend services due to maintenance, failures, or emergencies.
c. In case of force majeure, services may be restricted or suspended.
Article 9 (Purchase Request)
Users may request purchases by entering name, address, phone number, selecting product/service, choosing payment method, and agreeing to the Terms.
Article 10 (Contract Formation)
a. The Company may refuse requests that are false, involve minors restricted by law, or technically unfeasible.
b. The contract is formed upon the Company’s confirmation notice.
Article 11 (Payment Methods)
Payment can be made by credit card, bank transfer, mobile payment, Money Points, or other methods designated by the Company.
Article 12 (Order Confirmation and Changes)
a. The Company sends confirmation upon order.
b. Users may request changes or cancellations if there is a discrepancy.
c. Changes must be made before shipment; cancellations before printing the invoice.
Article 13 (Delivery)
a. Delivery time is calculated from the day after payment confirmation.
b. The Company aims to deliver within 7 days unless otherwise agreed.
c. Delivery method and time will be clearly stated.
Article 14 (Coupon Use)
a. Coupons are valid only during their designated period and location.
b. Coupons are non-refundable and valid for one-time use.
c. Users must follow the terms and conditions listed.
d. The Company is not liable for service quality—responsibility lies with the provider.
Article 15 (Cancellation)
a. Cancellations can be made before the product is shipped.
b. If in delivery, cancellation follows return procedure.
c. Coupons may only be canceled if unused within 7 days.
Article 16 (Returns)
a. Returns are accepted within 7 days of receipt per applicable laws.
b. Returns must comply with consumer protection laws.
c. Return costs are borne by the responsible party.
d. Defective or misrepresented goods may be returned within 3 months of receipt or 30 days from discovery.
e. Refunds are issued within 3 business days after return confirmation.
Article 17 (Exchanges)
a. Exchanges may be requested within 7 days.
b. If stock is unavailable, the request is treated as a return.
c. Return shipping for defective items is covered by the Company; otherwise, by the customer.
Article 18 (Refunds)
a. Credit card refunds are processed via cancellation.
b. Partial refunds are issued via card cancellation or bank transfer.
Article 19 (Exceptions to Returns/Exchanges/Refunds)
Refunds or exchanges are not allowed if:
The item is damaged by the customer.
Value diminished due to use.
Resale is difficult due to time elapsed.
Packaging of duplicable goods is damaged.
Other reasonable grounds are present.
Article 20 (Money Points)
a. Money Points can be used like cash and cannot be transferred or loaned.
b. The Company may adjust or expire Points with notice.
c. Points expire 730 days after issuance; users are notified 30 days before expiration.
d. Points are deleted if inactive for 365 days.
e. Fraudulently acquired Points may be revoked and subject to legal action.
Article 21 (Copyright and Use Restrictions)
a. All content created by the Company belongs to the Company.
b. Users may not use or share content for commercial purposes without permission.
Article 22 (Limitation of Liability)
a. The Company is not liable for issues caused by user negligence.
b. The Company is not responsible for third-party site transactions.
c. The Company is not responsible for losses due to unauthorized data disclosure by users.
Article 23 (Dispute Resolution)
a. The Company operates a customer service center for dispute resolution.
b. User complaints are handled promptly; if delayed, users are notified.
c. Disputes may be mediated by the Korea Fair Trade Commission.
Article 24 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
a. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
b. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court.
Article 25 (Miscellaneous)
a. The Company may suspend or modify services with prior notice.
b. Neither party may assign rights or obligations under these Terms without consent.
c. Additional agreements, notices, and policies form part of these Terms.
